1. Owlet Sock - I am listing this first because WOW I cannot even fathom how I left this off the list in month 1. This might be the most important baby item that we purchased. I am not kidding when I tell you it gives Alec and I such peace of mind. It might have been the only reason we slept those first few weeks. I love technology.
2. Dagne Dover Indi Diaper Bag - I really struggled to choose a diaper bag. I wanted neutral, but not girly since I had a boy, simple but not ugly, good quality, spacious, easy to clean, and of course something the hubs wouldn't mind carrying. This beautiful bag checks all the boxes. I have it in the light blue color that I don't think is available anymore but the heather grey and storm (navy) color are so pretty too.
3. BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss - A true life saver. This is what Noah spends a huge portion of his day in. It's so comfortable, easy to move from room to room, I even bring it to work with me when he comes. He is always so content in it and even takes naps in it! We love this thing so much we are thinking we will buy a second one!
4. Transitional Sleep Sacks - Over the last week Noah has began rolling over so we have started putting him in sleep sacks that allow his arms to be free, but still swaddle his mid-section tight. The two we love are the Love To Dream Swaddle Up Transition Bag and the Halo Sleepsack 3-way adjustable wearable blanket.
5. Electric Nail File - If you haven't experienced it yet let me be the first to tell you, trimming your baby's nails is a tedious, time consuming, scary task. This nail file makes it so much quicker and easier, and takes out the chance of snipping their little fingers. It works fast, but is so gentle it does not hurt them at all!
6. Sweet Jojo Designs Playmat - With us having two dogs, it was super important to me that we had spaces and items that protect him from the hair all over the floor for as long as possible. This mat is super cute, easy to wash, and gives him a nice clean space to play.
7. Car Seat Toys - Our boy is a pretty chill baby who does not cry much at all *knocks on wood*. BUT he has developed a true hatred for his car seat. Thankfully, he can be easily distracted and as long as he has his toys hanging from the bar, he stays pretty content in his car seat!
8. HelloBaby Monitor - Even though we have the Owlet we wanted a monitor that displayed on a separate screen, rather than our phones, and we love this one!
I know so much is going to start changing in the next few months as he grows and learns even more. I will continue to share our favorite products month by month. What are some products you loved for your 2 and 3 month old baby?
Ulta is currently holding their Fall Haul Sale, it runs from today (September 24) to October 2. While this sale isn't quite as good as their 21 Days of Beauty event, they have deals on a bunch of different brands! I spotted some of my favorite items and thought I would share. Just click the picture to shop!
NYX The Brow Glue - buy 1, get one 50% off
Now is a great time to stock up on some of these items!
Truly, one of my favorite fall activities is curling up outside or by a window with a hot drink and a good book. It's the perfect time to get invested in a good psychological thriller, not that I read much of anything else the rest of the year. Now that life has (semi) calmed down (moved into the new house and Noah is starting to get on a more consistent schedule) I am so excited to start knocking out my fall to-be-read list!
I am going to have a hard time deciding which book to dive into first! Which one are you going to pick up?
I cannot believe Noah is already a month old! He has grown and changed so much already and my mama heart just can't handle it.
Making our registry I felt so lost, even with all the research I did there was no telling what our babe would like and dislike. The "love to dream" swaddle for example (the wingsuit-looking thing pictured above lol) was something I saw and thought "what are the odds my baby will need that weird-looking swaddle?". Well, then I birthed a baby who can and will wiggle out of any traditional swaddle to have his hands up by his head. SO guess who ordered a baby wingsuit in every size? This mom.
So below I have compiled a list of the items (in no particular order) that we have used the most in his first month of life + why we love them.
1. Baby Carriers - okay I might have lied about "no particular order" because this child loves to be held and loves to be moving, so baby carriers have been our saving grace. Per usual I could not decide which one I wanted so I have three (over the top, I know) but I am super glad I was able to test a few out and see which one I liked best. I have the Boba Wrap, the Boppy ComfyFit Hybrid, and the Babybjorn Mini. I plan to write a whole blog comparing the three!
2. 4moms mamaRoo - This was gifted to us off of our registry and it is one of the only places he will sleep during the day if not in our arms or a carrier! It is definitely a splurge item but 100% worth it if your babe likes to be moving.
3. Knotted Gowns - As silly as it sounds I wasn't planning to buy any of these once I discovered we were having a boy. But they are a true lifesaver for those middle-of-the-night diaper changes. The ones from Lou Lou and Company are my favorite because they are buttery soft and such great quality!
4. Gripe Water - Poor Noah always has a bubbly tummy and hiccups so sometimes this is the only thing that can soothe him!
5. Snuggle Me Organic - This lounger is super helpful for when he does let us put him down. Sleeping or awake we can easily move this with us from room to room throughout the day and have a safe space to set him down while we are doing other things. + the cover because dog hair!
6. Love to Dream Swaddle - I talked about this earlier in the post, Noah loves to sleep with his hands up by his face/head so this is the only swaddle we use right now!
7. AngelCare Baby Bath - Baby boy loves baths so we give him one almost every night just to help him settle down for bed.
8. Vava Night Light - The cutest and most convenient night light to ever exist. We used it in the hospital and now I keep it on my nightstand. You can control the whole thing just by the touch of your hand + it can be wireless.
9. Baby Bum Brush - Just trust me on this one, it makes diaper changes, cleaner and quicker!
10. Muslin Burp Cloths - These decorate every space in our house lately! They are so lightweight and soft. By far our favorite burp cloths.
11. Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets - We use these swaddle blankets more as a traditional blanket because they're soft and lightweight which is perfect for the weather right now! I have also used them as a nursing cover and they work great because it covers me and baby but it doesn't get too hot underneath.
Mamas, are there any items on this list that you love too?
On Sunday I will be 37 weeks, meaning Baby Boy could theoretically come any day now! So I thought it was about time I packed up our hospital bag so that we are as prepared as possible whenever he decides to make his arrival. I have added to and taken things off my list of things to pack since I was about 12 weeks pregnant, but I think I have finally gotten it narrowed down to the necessities and a few "just in case" items. (+ a few "because I want to" items hehe)
for Mom & Dad

2. Nursing Bra - I love this one because it is sports bra style, so no clasp in the back

I packed everything in my Vera Bradley Grand Weekender, I have had this for years and it is the best bag! And I used packing cubes to keep everything organized inside.
There is a good chance I over-packed but I would rather be safe than sorry. I curated this list by watching lots of youtube videos and reading blog posts similar to this one and used my best judgment based on my preferences. I will be sure to update you all on what I actually used and if there was anything I was missing. I can't believe this is right around the corner!!
